The U.S. military and its massive propaganda apparatus misleads youth into joining. Time to bring a little truth in advertising. Come dressed as a dead or injured soldier or civilian, use plenty of Halloween make up to make a statement against endless war and the recruitment of urban youth for imperialist warfare.
Join Inclusive Democracy for Anti-Recruitment Street Theater at the Army Career Depot located at Main and Grand Streets in Paterson on Saturday 10/29 at 12noon to 1:30pm

The collapse of public health care through decades of deliberate neglect in the U.S. makes the country as vulnerable to a flu pandemic as any bottom tier third world country, and it may be too late to do anything about that.

American troops are killing journalists in Iraq with regularity with no repercussions because under the Pentagon’s “rules of engagement,” slaughtering anyone a soldier thinks might be suspicious is the right—indeed the heroic--thing to do.

Sept, 15. 2005 - "The state of Texas executed a 40 year old African-American woman, Frances Newton, who became the third woman, and first black woman, to be put to death in Texas since executions resumed in 1982. Newton had long maintained her innocence."
This news item was underreported. In fact, if you do a goggle news search, there are only a handful of articles by the mainstream media on the execution. In addition, one blatantly racist U.S. criminologist site describes Francis as having an "ant like face".

It is a crying shame that in 2005 a law enforcement journal is able to refer to a fellow citizen as analogous to an ant. It is a callous indifference and a disregard for human life, but it illustrates the twisted reasoning and crude mentality of pro-death penalty proponents: it's okay to crush some humans, to stamp them out as you would an ant.
What follows is the text of speech made at the City College of New York by my fellow Campaign to End the Death Penalty member Rosa Haire last week.

Saturday, September 3, 2005, Paterson NJ, beginning at noon, Inclusive Democracy sponsored Books Not Bombs and was able to distribute books and school supplies to about three dozen passerby’s, adults and children. The sun was shining beautifully. The event went off without hitch despite the fact that a Police Athletic League member stopped by to harass and vent his spleen at the peaceful and grassroots group.
