The war in Iraq drags on and the military has not met recruitment goals.
More than 1900 of our sons, daughters, friends and coworkers have been
killed.
Military recruiters are given free access to students in our schools, but
they are so desperate to meet their goals that they don’t always tell
potential recruits the truth.
Recruiters are not required to tell you the truth about job training, money
for college, where you will serve and the risks of getting deployed to Iraq
or Afghanistan. They just want to get you signed up and off to fight this
unpopular and illegal war.
What: Protest and informational leafleting at the Recruiting Station in
downtown Trenton

Are you tired of marching in circles, holding prefabricated signs
for some giant organization jockeying for power, and listening to
dozens of speakers telling you what you believe?
Are you sickened and disgusted by the daily reports of men,
women, and
children being murdered, imprisoned, and tortured by the US
military
in this War on Terror?
Are you tired of merely voicing your dissent, and want to do
something
concrete to help stop the War?
On Wednesday, November 16th, help us strike at the Achilles
heel of
the War Machine-- Help us confront military recruiters in Downtown
Brooklyn!
The United States needs a constant, fresh supply of recruits in
order to maintain its current wars, and even more if it wants to
expand. Recruiters use every dirty trick in the book (including
downright lies) to fool poor people here in the US into joining
the
military and helping the government exploit and oppress poor
people
in foreign lands. By denying the government the bodies needed to
wage war, we are denying it the ability to fight wars.
According to
reports in the media, recruiters have already missed their
enlistment target by the largest margin since 1979, and the morale
of troops currently overseas is at rock-bottom. We must
continue to
apply pressure! Help destroy the war machine! Help shut down
military recruitment!
